Dubai Lynx Awards releases shortlists

The UAE has the most shortlisted entries, followed by Saudi Arabia and Egypt

The Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity has released the shortlists across all 19 categories. From over 2,400 entries, 544 pieces of work have been shortlisted and will now compete to be awarded MENA’s most prestigious branded communications accolade.

Both the 2020 and 2021 work is currently being judged by a diverse group of 81 global experts and leaders, which for the first time has 50% female representation. The UAE is currently leading the shortlists followed by Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Thea Skelton, Festival Director, Dubai Lynx, said: “We’ve brought our juries together remotely this year and it has been fantastic to see them all in action as they absorb, enjoy and discuss the most creative work from across MENA. Their job now is to set the region’s new benchmark in creative excellence as they determine which pieces of work are worthy of a Lynx Award.”

The winners of the Dubai Lynx Awards will be announced during a virtual awards ceremony, broadcast at 7:00pm GST, 7 April 2021, on the Dubai Lynx website. During the ceremony the Dubai Lynx Advertiser of the Year and Advertising Person of the Year will also be honoured, and the winners of the Agency and Network of the Year, as well as the other Special Awards, will be revealed.

Celebrating the region’s future creative superstars, this year’s Dubai Lynx Student Competition asked competitors to create an exciting and original front cover for Campaign ME. First place has been awarded to Jad Zock, Lebanese American University, with Safia Almansoori from Zayed University taking second place and Ghiwa Abi Khalil from Lebanese American University taking third. The winners will be celebrated during the virtual awards ceremony.
