Pitcher Awards Introduces Craft and Integrated Digital Campaigns

Entries Open 1 December 2021

Pitcher Awards, part of the annual pan-African Pitcher Festival of Creativity is now being expanded further to include Craft and Integrated Digital Campaigns.

Pitcher Festival Chairman and Cannes Lions representative in Nigeria, Nnamdi Ndu said: "We are happy to have begun the implementation of the recommendations of the 2021 jury towards improving the Awards and helping the African creative and marketing communications industry to grow. Honouring specific roles is a way to direct industry attention to areas of importance. By celebrating excellence in the use of techniques, crafts and digital skills, we're also saying, here are examples of work we should all aspire, if not to beat, at least to match."

The newly introduced Craft Category will have its own jury and jury president. The subcategories under which submissions will be judged are: Audio Craft, Design Craft, Digital, Mobile and Social Craft, Film Craft and Print Craft. The craft category will reward skill specializations like Copywriting, Art Direction, Photography, Sound Design, Illustration and User Experience.

Meanwhile, the new Integrated Digital Campaigns is a subcategory under the Digital Category. The jury will be reviewing campaigns in this subcategory on how well they have been able to combine multiple digital channels such as email, content, social media etc. to effectively deliver a specific message to an audience.
