The organizers of the Pitcher Festival of Creativity have announced the appointment of Temitope Jemerigbe as the 2021 Dean of its flagship Future Creative Leaders Academy. The  Academy is an intensive professional immersion programme for students in tertiary institutions who intend to take up careers in advertising and related fields on graduation and has been a pathway to the Cannes Lions Roger Hatchuel Academy in France and the Google Campus in Mountainview, California, USA.

In her career trajectory, Temitope has evolved into an Amazon on the Nigerian Integrated Marketing Communications landscape. With well over 22 years experience from various top agencies in Nigeria, including STB McCann, ZK Advertising, Prima Garnet Africa and Dencil Limited, she is today, an icon and a leader with indelible footprints of recognition in the industry.

Temitope Jemerigbe, is the Chief Executive Officer of DKK Nigeria, a full-fledged Integrated Marketing Communication agency. She has built a sterling career and has great records in all the agencies she ever worked, with outstanding performance at DKK. It is on record that when multi-awards winning Temitope Jemerigbe assumed the position of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at DKK in 2012, the agency, which had been founded in 1997, was barely struggling to stay afloat, having been hit by hard times. As a game changer, she took the daunting task of resuscitating the agency, where she is now a partner/shareholder.

With the bold and daring move, the agency expanded the boundaries of its business beyond the shores of Nigeria, by going into a joint venture with GEPetrol, the National Oil Company of Equatorial Guinea, to manage a major project.

Temitope who holds a Master’s degree in International Management from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, obtained her first degree in Mass Communication from Ogun State Polytechnic. She is a member of several organizations and currently serves on the Board of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), as the Publicity Secretary. She also serves as the Vice Chairman for the LAIF Management Board and is the Chairman of the Committee of Women in Advertising a position that sees her championing growth and equal opportunity for women in the industry.

Tope, as she is simply called, is a recipient of various awards including Female CEO of the year 2014 and Brand Communication’s Outstanding Female creative Advertising Professional of the year, 2020. She is also a motivational speaker and speaks at conferences. She is a strong believer in building the next generation of women. She is a member of WISCAR & a member of the Board of Trustees for The LightHouse Network, both organizations focused on empowering women. In both NGOs, Temitope gives of her time & resource.

She is happily married to her friend Odemi, who she met in the “line of duty”, and is blessed with two adorable children, one of whom lives with sickle cell. In her usual character, she has taken the challenge on, as an opportunity to help others. She now serves as a Board Member of the Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI), helping other mothers and families manage the peculiarity needed to raise a survivor.

Tope does not believe in luck or chance, but in deliberate action and strategy to gain result. This, to a large extent, informs her personal philosophy; “to drive ones innate ability with focus, no destination is too far”.
