Winner of FCLA Prize for Cannes Lions Roger Hatchuel Student Academy Announced


Oyinkansola Valerie Epidi, Communication and Media Student, Ajayi Crowther University

The organizers of the Future Creative Leaders Academy, a student platform of the Pitcher Festival of Creativity have announced Oyinkansola Valerie Epidi as the winner of the 2022 Future Creative Leaders Academy prize to attend the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy taking place during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.


Oyinkansola is final a year student of Ajayi Crowther University in the department of Communications and Media Studies.


Oyinkansola was selected from a class of about 40 students made up of top performing students from about 14 tertiary institutions. The participants were asked to create a 2-minute video to showcase their creativity and explain why they deserve a place in the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy reserved for only 30 select students from around the world. After the first round of judging, the jury at the Future Creative Leaders Academy shortlisted 3 students, who were then forwarded to Cannes Lions International jury for final selection. The winner, Oyinkansola Valerie Epidi is now scheduled to attend the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy programme in June in France fully sponsored by CHINI Africa organizers of the Pitcher Festival of Creativity and Cannes Lions official festival representative in Nigeria.

In previous years, participants of the Cannes Lions Roger Hatchuel Academy have also gone ahead to participate in the Google Campus programme in California, United States of America. It is yet to be confirmed if the programme will follow the same format in 2022.


Meanwhile, the Future Creative Leaders Academy is still ongoing and participants have just submitted their responses to the second brief requesting them to provide intervention ideas for gender equity. Winning individuals, lecturer and school will be announced during the Pitcher Festival in May.
