PITCHER AWARDS 2021 NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES

The New Pan-African Benchmark for Creative Excellence

Now in its fourth year, the Pitcher Awards  has quickly become one of the most valuable and internationally respected accolades for creative work coming out of Africa.  The Pitcher Awards started as an annual celebration of creativity in West Africa, but beginning with the 2020 edition, the scope has now widened to include all work created, released or implemented anywhere on the African continent in line with its vision to provide the true and authentic benchmark for  African creative excellence.

New For 2021. Entertainment Category & One-Off

COVID-19 Subcategory

African entertainment profile is on the rise and Pitcher Awards is set to adequately capture the impact of this very important sector on business and development in the region by giving it its own category. The Pitcher Awards Entertainment category will now be the fifth category of the Pitcher Awards programme and will have its own separate jury and jury president.

Also new for 2021 is a special subcategory for COVID-19 under the Pitcher for Good category. This will be a one-off subcategory just for 2021. The new COVID-19 subcategory will honour great ideas with shortlist, bronze, silver and the Pitcher for Good awards, unlike in the regular Good category where only the Pitcher for Good, an equivalent of gold, is given to deserving work.

Discount for Entries Completed Quickly & Time Adjustment for COVID-19

It's been a challenging year not only for business, but for all of mankind. Thankfully though, creativity never took the back seat. This continues to give us a compelling reason to honour the great work that is coming out of these unprecedented times.  To make up for all the time lost to lockdowns and reduced productivity, 2021 awards year has been adjusted to include last quarter of 2019 and first quarter of 2021.  Entry fees for several subcategories have been revised downwards and Pitcher Awards is also offering 15% discount for entries completed before December 31 and 10% discount for entries completed before January 31. At a time that every dime counts, submitting entries early is definitely a great way to save.
