The Managing Director of Ogilvy Nigeria, Fiona Uwagwu has been named as the Pitcher Awards 2020 Innovation Jury President. Fiona and her team will judge awards submissions for Social Media Campaigns, Messaging, Apps, Websites, Microsites and Web Services as well as Games, Novel Ideas and Devices. The Innovation Jury has also been saddled with the responsibility of judging the Pitcher for Good categories for profit and nonprofit organisations.
Fiona is a career marketing professional and a 19-year veteran in advertising, working at some of the biggest agencies in the UK including Saatchi’s, TBWA & Ogilvy. After nearly 5 years working at Ogilvy UK on American Express and Nestle, she moved to Africa to lead the Digital discipline for Ogilvy Africa across Sub-Saharan Africa. Most recently has moved to Lagos to become Managing Director of the new Ogilvy Nigeria office.
According to Nnamdi Ndu, CEO CHINI Africa, Cannes Lions festival representatives in Nigeria and organisers of the Pitcher Awards, "The world is looking forward to the next big things that will come out of Africa in digital and we trust that Fiona and her team in the innovation jury will unravel those gems that will not only be clear winners, but also those that we will be proud to showcase to the world".
Earlier, Pitcher Awards had also announced Ivan Johnson, Executive Creative Director and Partner at 3Verse, Cape Town South Africa as Heritage Jury President and Emeka Chris Okeke, Founder, Group Chief Executive Officer, Media Fuse Dentsu Aegis Network Holding Company Limited & Director, Dentsu Aegis Network Ghana, as Channel Jury president.
Entries are currently open for the Pitcher Awards and the awards night will hold at in Lagos on 28 March 2020 as part of the Pitcher Festival of Creativity from 26 - 28 March 2020.
