Pitcher Festival has announced the appointment of Vincent Montocchio, Chief Creative Officer Publicis Groupe Africa & Managing Director CIRCUS! Mauritius as President of the 2022 Pitcher Awards Craft Jury.
The Pitcher Awards Craft Category is being introduced for the first time in 2022 to promote and reward excellence in skill specializations such as Copywriting, Art Direction, Photography, Sound Design, Illustration and User Experience.
Following a Masters in Visual Communication in Paris, Vincent began his career as an Art Director at LOWE ALICE, one of the most successful French advertising agencies of that time. After seven years, he headed to his homeland as Creative Director of Circus Advertising. Under his creative direction, the agency became the most awarded of the region and ranked 4th most creative agency in Africa at the African Cristal Festival 2018. Vincent's works have also been very successful at Pitcher Awards winning Gold for in 2021 for Mauvilac Color Vogue, KFC Say No to Plastic and Pepsi 2020 Film.
Today, Vincent is the Managing Director of CIRCUS! in Mauritius and the Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Groupe Africa, a network of 63 agencies spread over the continent. Vincent is passionate about art. Besides being a song writer and composer, he is a photographer with several exhibitions to his credit in Mauritius and Africa. He was selected from 30 African photographers for a major exhibition at the Pan-African Festival of Algiers in 2009, entitled "REFLETS D'AFRIQUE".
Now in its fifth edition, the Pitcher Awards is one of the most valuable and internationally respected accolades for creative work coming out of Africa. Every year, esteemed jury members from across the region come together to review and benchmark creativity expressed across Africa through various platforms like Print, Film, Audio, Outdoor, PR, Entertainment, Digital, as well as creativity that has been specifically deployed for societal good. Entries into Pitcher Awards are open to all work created, released or implemented anywhere on the African continent.
